As an external sales representative at the Robert Price Group, you will play a pivotal role in our sales team; developing relationships with new & existing customers across Bridgend and Cardiff.

Robert Price Builders’ Merchants Ltd is a family run independent business, with head office in Abergavenny. Founded in 1847, we are a substantial local employer, with the developments and progressions of a modern SME, and the grounding and values of a traditional family run business. We are the largest independent builders’ merchant in South East Wales.

Roofing:
There are 4 branches under the Robert Price – Roofing division, offering a comprehensive range of roofing materials, tools and accessories. With expert advice and quality stock, the division supports both commercial and domestic roofing projects, from repairs to complete installations. Robert Price Roofing branches are located in Bridgend, Cardiff, Cwmbran and Monmouth. We also hold an extended roofing stock profile at our Ebbw Vale Builders’ Merchant yard.

Key responsibilities

• Sustaining and developing accounts with existing customers.
• Securing and developing new profitable business opportunities through leads and observations.
• Focussing on good customer account management, using targeted site visits where appropriate.
• Close co-operation with the branch sales team in order to deliver the best possible customer service.
• Preparing and following up quotations.
• Liaising with company management to support and implement growth strategies.

Essential skills & experience

• Self-motivated with experience of sales in the roofing industry.
• A comprehensive knowledge of all roofing materials and their applications.
• Good customer service skills and an enthusiasm and ability to maximise profit opportunities, achieve sales and margin targets by developing profitable turnover through pro-active selling.
• The ability to organise working time and manage resources and site visits effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within parameters and guidelines agreed with the senior sales team.
• A results-driven mindset with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
• Good IT skills and efficient administration and record keeping.
• Articulate, numerate, thorough and reliable.
• Full clean driving licence.

Desirable skills & experience

Knowledge of Bridgend, Cardiff & surrounding areas.
