Welsh Builders’ Merchant Makes Contribution to ‘Fill a Van’ Scheme for Foodbanks

South Wales builders’ merchants, Robert Price, has participated in the ‘Fill a Van Scheme’ which delivers much needed food and resources to local foodbanks around South Wales.

With the recent cost-of-living crisis, families across the UK have found themselves facing growing bills and rising energy prices. Foodbanks have become a vital and much needed lifeline for many people each day.

To meet the rising demand, foodbanks rely on individuals and organisations for donations.

Robert Price recently contributed towards the ‘Fill a Van Scheme’, created by Westdale Midlands, which transports a large number of goods from local pick-up points and delivers them to food banks nationwide.

They generously donated a £250 voucher to the ‘Fill a Van’ Scheme, enabling additional supplies to be purchased for the foodbanks.

Trish Bishop, Director at Westdale Midlands, commented:

“Westdale are very grateful to Robert Price Ltd and all of our suppliers that kindly contributed to our ‘Fill a Van’ project.

“Initially we were planning to fill just one van of food to be donated to Food Banks. Due to the generosity of suppliers, staff and sub-contractors, we actually filled FIVE vans and were able to donate to food banks in all the areas we are currently undertaking works. A huge success!

“Thanks again Robert Price”.

Molly Pike, Marketing Director at Robert Price, said the following of the scheme:

“We are so pleased that we could play a part in delivering this large donation to food banks.

“The ‘Fill a Van’ initiative is a wonderful idea, and we hope that it makes a difference to those in need during these unpredictable times.”

Robert Price is well established in the South Wales area and has made similar donations in the past.

Molly continues:

“We would like to thank everyone involved in this scheme for the amazing work that they do. It has been a big success and we hope to continue our charitable contributions in the near future”.
